Day 2

I knew this was an opportunity of a lifetime for me, if Calypso was telling the truth. However, as I kept on questioning Calypso, she exclaimed, "Earth be my witness now, the vaulting Sky above and the dark cascading waters of the Styx—I swear by the greatest, grimmest oath that binds the happy gods; I will never plot some new intrigue to harm you- Never." Surely she wouldn't lie after swearing by the River Styx. At that moment, she had my full trust. I couldn't believe this was happening! She sent me off on my journey back to my home five days later, but my journey didn't last long. On the eighteenth day on my journey at sea, Poseidon sent a huge storm to destroy my boat. I was thrown overboard as my boat sunk into pieces, but the gods answered my prayers when the lovely goddess, Ino, and the wise Athena came to my rescue. They led me back to safety at shore, but I'm afraid that this has enraged Poseidon even more.

Day 1

Everyday I would go to the same place to weep and grieve for my wife, for my kingdom, and for my son. Every night I would be forced to sleep with that desparate nymph, Calypso. And nothing would change the day after. However, one day as I was weeping, things did change. Calypso came up to me and said things that I thought I would never hear from her. "No need, my unlucky one, to grieve here any longer, no, don't waste your life away." She then said, "So you can reach your native country all unharmed. Only if the gods are willing." I refused to trust her. It didn't make sense, why would she let me go all of a suddenly? She would never let me go this easy; I knew that she had something planned for me later. But maybe she's telling the truth......
